Chapter 1
the starting line
The name that was given to the concept design was called "project inspire". It started back at the end of 2016 after development of the successful project of the TD4-4 but was canceled due to seeing that the current 4wd 1/10th buggy design platform had reached a dead-end and would need a ground up redesign.
Chapter 2
crazy ideas
It was decided that getting the center of gravity as low as possible was the main aim with obvious advantages. The second design constraint is to get as much of the rotating mass towards the front and centralized to maximize the gyro effect to make the car very stable and easy to drive at high speeds. Third design constraint was to have the car easy to work-on, maintain and setup. The craziest idea in the project was the cross over quad rocker system which took 3 months to design but the end result is mind blowing.
Chapter 3
dream crushing
By the middle of 2018 the inspire project was a working concept that could be shown to manufactures for them to take the project on and have an injection of cash to move the project forward. But sadly the concept was rejected by all manufactures as was deemed to high risk and was seen it was decided that a more conventional design (xray clone) was a better direction to take.
Chapter 4
injection of confedence
After feeling rejected and some time to regroup the decision was made that the car was too good to be a "what if" dream and to prove how fast the car is, One prototype was handmade and tested. First time on the track the car was amazing and the car injected confidence and had the lap times, it was proven that the ideas that worked in software also work in the hardware of the prototype.
"FANTASTIC!"
"FANTASTIC!"
Chapter 5
exciting times
Now the concept had been proven a manufacture for all the components had to be found and after many months and talks a plan was put together. Then it was seen to get the kit to the market ss soon as possible a Kickstarter was to be launched to get the funds together for all mold tools and first batch of kits.
Chapter 6
The kickstarter
The Kickstarter was launched at the start of October 2019 and was live for 1 month with a great response and such enthusiasm but sadly not many backers to raise the funds needed to get the INSPIRE4 into production.
Chapter 7
plan B
After the kickstarter was not succesful and knowing how fast the car was, we knew we had to push on and find another way to bring the car to the market.
Chapter 8
covid-19
The world stopped including racing for the first time. we didn't let it stop us carrying on developing the car further.
Chapter 9
L&L models invest
L&L Models approach us to give to project a much needed boost with there help with contacts and backing to get 5 pre-production kits built so more testing can be done and get the car in more peoples hands for there feed back.
Chapter 10
